New Vacation Short-Term Rental Tax:
State and local taxes apply on all vacation rentals on rental leases signed after January 1, 2019 for properties rented after July 1, 2019. The rates are 5.7% state tax plus 4.0% for Aquinnah, Chilmark, Edgartown, and West Tisbury rentals or 6.0% for Oak Bluffs and Tisbury rentals. These taxes will be collected by MVYRE and paid to the appropriate state agency for the homeowners.
